Thursday, January 16, 2025 - 7 pm at Rockway
This Fall, Rockway installed 873 solar panels on our roof and will soon be running the entire school on solar power!
As an organization, we have identified climate justice as one of our key priorities. This means our teachers are incorporating this topic in their curriculum development, classroom teaching and field trips and administration is looking at our facilities.
How can Rockway afford to do this? Why choose solar? What is ced co-op?
These are just some of the questions that parents and alumni have approached us with since the onset of this project, so we wanted to create an opportunity to tell you about it.
Join us on January 16 for an evening of information and learning. Admin and students from Rockway will discuss the Rockway Solar project from a technical point of view and show you aerial footage of our solar roof tops. Representatives from CED Co-op (Community Energy Development Co-operative) will explain their community-based investment model that made this installation financially possible for Rockway. Guests will have the opportunity to ask questions ahead of time (in the RSVP form) or during the evening. All are welcome!
