Margaret brings over 20 years of experience as a Registered Social Worker to the Rockway community. With a focus on child and youth mental health, Margaret is committed to care of the whole student, believing that healthy growth and academic success are possible when we properly attend to physical, spiritual and psycho-social needs. Prior to Rockway, Margaret worked for numerous local organizations geared towards the care of marginalized folk as well as health promotion of youth and young adults. She also brings classroom experience from alternative education settings, specializing in the areas of science, social studies, outdoor education, and theatre. Her happy place usually involves being outdoors, whether it’s on a quiet walk with her elderly dog, Chinook, or a rain-soaked canoe adventure with her family. As Director of Advancement, Chris provides leadership in the areas of relationship building, donor relations, communications and the advancement of Rockway by collaboratively developing and implementing strategies that generate awareness, relationships, engagement, support and various types of donations from individuals, churches, foundations, alumni, businesses and the larger supporting constituency. Chris comes to Rockway with over 15 years of fundraising experience from the not-for-profit world. Before joining Rockway, Chris worked in a similar fundraising role for a local conservation organization and professional theatre company. Chris hopes his years of experience, work ethic, dedication and passion for his work will help serve the Rockway community well for years to come. Outside of work, Chris loves fishing, spending time with his wife and two daughters, visiting the family cottage, cooking and baking.

Chantale is a French native speaker born and raised in Québec. During her post-secondary education, she took a break from her studies and went travelling in order to fully immerse herself in an anglophone environment. While this was a very challenging experience, it has made Chantale that much more compassionate when teaching French to English students!
Chantale has been teaching French in the KW Community for over 20 years. After completing her Master’s Degree in French Literature, and teaching a variety of French courses at the University of Waterloo, she came to Rockway in 2019, where she has been enjoying the amazing community ever since.

Jeff is an alumni of Rockway and has been a musician all of his life. He loves to share his passion for music making with people of all ages. He taught private string lessons at Rockway and the Beckett school for 20 years. As a composer, his music has been commissioned by groups from across Canada, the U.S. and New Zealand. His music has been performed and broadcast across Canada, the U.S., Europe, Japan, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. He sings professionally with the Elora Singers and the Canadian Chamber Choir. He has played various stringed instruments in various community and semi-professional ensembles over the years. Jeff is also the organist and choir director at St. George’s Anglican church in Guelph where he runs a thriving music program.

Josh taught high school for 17 years in the WRDSB at Glenview Park Secondary School, Bluevale Collegiate Institute before taking over the role of Music Department head at Cameron Heights Collegiate where he taught for 11 years. Josh is also a part time contract faculty member at Wilfrid Laurier University where he teaches in the Music Education Department.
Josh has presented multiple times at the Ontario Music Education Conference, as well as at the American Association of Popular Music Education conference in Nashville. Josh had the great privilege of being a speaker at the TEDxKitchener conference at Center in the Square in 2019, and is a Barrday Teacher of Excellence award winner.
Josh is an active contributor to his community where he is currently a member of the board for Laurier Center For Music in the Community. He is also a certified Ontario Volleyball Association coach and an active coach with the Waterloo Tigers Volleyball club. She has also lived in Eswatini and Malawi, travelled in southern Africa and Europe, co-led a Rockway trip to China, and twice took Rockway students to Georgia for the School of Americas Watch protests. Leasa brings a wealth of business experience as a former co-owner of a small trucking company, along with her current business endeavours in rental & property management. She has worked in the insurance, marina, automotive and engineering sectors. She has spent many winters volunteering with Track 3 at Chicopee Ski hill, which has been a great way for her to gain a better understanding of people with special abilities and coax her out into the cold!
Leasa chose the name “Nokomis” (“Koko” for short) to honour her Ojibwe ancestors. Being a Koko to her first grandchild is an exciting time for her. Steven is the Director of Finance and Human Resources, and has a passion for connecting the details of finance and operations to the people, mission and vision of Rockway. He was previously the Business & Operations Director at Shalom Counselling Services in Waterloo. Steven has been involved in the creation of a number of projects and organizations in the community, including Pastors in Exile, Empower Cleaning, and his first project Enlace (Mennonite Central Committee Ontario), which he started while he was still in high school!
When he is not dealing with the day to day operations of Rockway, Steven enjoys sports of many varieties, including cycling, squash, soccer, and anything else he can get involved in. Steven is also an active member of Stirling Avenue Mennonite Church, and has served as a volunteer Directors for community organizations Beyond Housing and Camp Micah.x

Before coming to Rockway, Candace had many diverse experiences which helped prepare her as a Technology teacher and Robotics coach. For five years, Candace worked as a mechanical engineer where she developed her passion for connecting math and physics to the everyday lives of her students. World travel was also a passion; Candace participated in the Adventures In Mission program where she was part of a team supporting overseas grassroots service organizations. Candace also has a strong connection to the outdoors and has worked at both Willowgrove Outdoor Education Centre and Fraser Lake Camp. She is actively involved in her church community as a youth leader.

As Rockway’s Director of Admissions & Recruitment, Sheri has the privilege to walk alongside families as they discover the value of a Rockway education. Before moving into her role in administration, Sheri taught French, Social Sciences and Business. In addition to her French language expertise, Sheri is also fluent in Japanese and has enjoyed teaching it both in high school and university contexts. She has lived and worked in four countries on three continents (Japan, France, United States, and Canada) and worked as a professional interpreter and translator before discovering her true vocational passion: teaching language, culture and the social sciences to high school students. Her travels have allowed her to teach not only at Rockway, but also in a Catholic girls high school, a struggling inner-city high school serving a largely hispanic immigrant population in suburban Chicago, and one of the Mid-West’s most elite private high schools. Rockway is her favourite! Sheri is a member of Rockway Mennonite Church.
