Parent Engagement Series

Thursday, March 27, 2025 - 7 pm at Rockway

This Fall, Rockway held our first Youth Mental Health night with a focus on Cell Phones and Social Media. The feedback we received after that night was very positive and there were many parents who were asking if our next evening discussion could be about Understanding Anxiety

Join us on March 27 for this important conversation. All are welcome!

Our guest panelists consist of:

  • Kat Weber – a former Rockway student who struggled with anxiety during her high school years. She will bring to us stories of her lived experience with anxiety and strategies for how she manages her anxiety in her day-to-day adult life.

  • Mark Weber – a former Rockway parent and will be speaking from the perspective of a parent of a student with anxiety struggles. He will speak of how they supported Kat through her high school years and in her postsecondary years since graduation.

  • Sue Martell – a psychotherapist with over 25 years of experience supporting hundreds of youth at Woolwich Counselling Centre, many of whom name anxiety as a significant source of struggle.

  • Leanne Brown and Mitchell Mervyn are both facilitators from the Family and Youth Team at Camino Wellbeing + Mental Health.

The panel will be moderated by Stella Halim, a current grade 12 Rockway student who hopes to pursue Nursing studies following graduation this spring.

The evening will focus on supporting parents and giving them the tools they need to support their child. Members of Rockway’s Student Services will be on site if you have questions about how Rockway is supporting student well-being while they are on campus.
