The Great Human Odyssey is coming!
This coming May, Rockway students will participate in a unique performance at Kitchener’s Centre in the Square.
Our grade 10 and senior choirs will be joining the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony to provide live soundtrack accompaniment during a screening of The Great Human Odyssey, a critically acclaimed documentary series produced by the CBC.
Canadian composer Darren Fung wrote the score for the series and will be conducting the performance. Mr. Fung’s credits include many short films and documentaries as well as television themes for popular shows like Hockey Night in Canada and Canada AM.
Students had a chance to meet Mr. Fung recently when he came to Rockway to lead a workshop in preparation for the event. His personality quickly captured the students’ attention and, in combination with the visuals of the documentary, promises to make for a memorable evening of entertainment.
Rockway choir directors Marlys Neufeldt and Jen Hoffman-Bailey have dialed up their rehearsal schedules in preparation for the event and are looking forward to contributing to this once in a lifetime opportunity!
Performances are May 4-5, 2018 at 8pm. Tickets are available now through the Centre in the Square box office. Don’t miss this once-in-a-lifetime performance!
