Personal Information
Karen is the Head of Rockway’s Visual Art Department, teaching grades 10 through 12, and is pleased to have the opportunity to share her experience and passion for visual art and art history with her students and colleagues. Before joining the faculty at Rockway, Karen has enjoyed a diverse career as a respected Art Educator, including former Director of Education with both the Gallery/Stratford (Stratford) and the (kwag) Kitchener-Waterloo Art Gallery (Kitchener), respectively. Throughout the years, she has been recognized, provincially and nationally, for the development and implementation of innovative and award winning educational programmes. Recipient of the Zurich Canada, Educator’s Award, 1995, 1996, and 2000, most recently she is known for the unique programme, the “art of seeing”, designed in co-operation with the McMaster Museum of Art and the Faculty of Family Medicine, McMaster University.
