February 15, 2025 marked the 80th Anniversary of the founding of Rockway and, to honour this significant milestone, we are moving forward with a facilities renewal project! This project will help us address some aging infrastructure in our gym spaces and address important accessibility needs at the school.

The budget for our 80th Anniversary project is 2.2 million.
- As of May 2025, we are over 60% of our way to our fundraising goal, but we need your help to get us to the finish line by Fall 2025.
- Upgrades will start as early as this summer with the entire project wrapping up by September 2026.

Updates and Improvements:
- Weight room to be moved to the second floor overlooking gym A
- Community Meeting Room moved from second floor to main floor
- Change room modifications: new changing stalls, privacy showers, all new fixtures
- Upgrade existing washrooms in north hallway: new fixtures, floor to ceiling stalls
- New fully-accessible washroom
- New barrier-free washroom
- New moveable wall
- New bleachers in all gyms
- Refinish gym floors
- New Phys Ed offices with referee and coach change room
- Additional gym storage
- New gym lighting, sound equipment and digital scoreboards to enhance our events and to make us a more appealing rental facility

Naming Rights – $50,000+
Naming rights to specific locations within the gym space are available for purchase:
- Phys. Ed Office
- Meeting Space / Community Room
- Weight Room (see J. Hill example in rendering)
All naming rights are payable over a five-year period and are valid for a minimum of 20 years.
Major Donor Display – $5,000+
Our Major Donor Display will be located in the North Hallway. The display will:
- be one of a kind and designed to suit the space
- prominently recognize all of our major gifts above $5,000
- be a permanent installation
All major donations are payable over a three-year period and come with a tax receipt for the full amount.
Rockway “R” Puzzle – $1,000 each
We will have a large Rockway “R” created from barn board in the form of a puzzle. Our puzzle will:
- consist of 80 individual pieces
- become a permanent installation in the north hallway
- have donors engraved in each piece purchased
Tax receipts will be provided for the full amount.
Bleacher Seats – $250 each
Donors can symbolically purchase their own seat(s) for any of the new bleachers. These seats:
- will have a small engraved plaque with the name of the family member, business, loved one etc.
- can be chosen specifically or at random (a specific seat is only available on a first-come first-served basis)
Tax receipts will be provided for the full amount.
