Come volunteer with us! Volunteers love to get involved. And we love volunteers! You can help out on our Banquet Committee, in Drama Productions, with Special Events, and as Parent Ambassadors.
Rockway hosts a number of banquets throughout the school year. Many volunteers (20-30) are needed for each banquet to assist with table setting, food preparation, serving and cleanup. No experience is necessary – and training is provided!
Get to know other parents!
Parent volunteers enjoy the opportunity to meet fellow parents in their child’s grade. For this reason, we focus our recruiting efforts for each banquet based on grade level, although we welcome and are grateful for the many parents who volunteer at multiple banquets regardless of grade assignment. High school students are strongly encouraged to volunteer at any event where they are not a guest (see grade recommendations below).
- Christmas Banquet, Thursday, December 22, 2016 (parents of grade 9 students)
- Donor Appreciation Dinner, Thursday, April 27, 2017 (parents of grade 12 students)
- Graduation Banquet, Saturday, June 24, 2017 (parents of grade 11 students)
We strongly encourage you to volunteer at one or more of these events.
Additional questions can be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Rockway Banquet Committee
Rockway hosts several events each year, some for students and some public special events, which include meals. Rockway’s Banquet Committee coordinates volunteers for each event. The Banquet Committee is made up of parent volunteers and the Food Services Coordinator, Cyndi Pugh. They determine the number of volunteers, time allotments and skills of volunteers needed for decorating, table setting, food preparation, serving and clean up. They also help ensure that job titles and descriptions fit the tasks to be done for all volunteers involved with banquets.
Rockway parents enjoy meeting fellow parents in their child’s grade. Therefore, volunteer recruitment for each of these events focuses on parent volunteers from select grades, although community members and all Rockway parents and students are welcome to volunteer at any event where they are not a guest. Pencil-in the following dates for this year, and watch for announcements closer to the date, inviting you to volunteer and sign-up online.

As an independent school, Rockway relies exclusively on tuition fees, rental income and fundraising. We host special events throughout the year to raise support for Rockway’s mission.
We host several special events, including the Connections Weekend in late October, a series of events over two days (Spaghetti Supper, Alumni Sports Challenge, Silent Auction, Retired and Former Faculty/Staff Breakfast, and BIG Night Out, a casual evening of food, fun and friends)to welcome home our Alumni and families. In the spring, we host a Donor Appreciation event, an annual Golf Classic, and The Ultimate Alumni Picnic. Volunteers are needed to assist at these events in a variety of roles. To get involved, contact Christine Rier, email@example.com or 519-743-5209 x3011
Parent Ambassadors attend key Rockway events wearing Rockway t-shirts and answer questions that might arise about life at Rockway for new families.
We know, as parents, it is important to feel connected to your children’s friends and to the parents of those friends. Parent Ambassadors provide opportunities for parents to meet with one another to build that sense of belonging and community with other parents in their children’s grade as well as the chance to get to know parents who have students at different points in the Rockway experience. If you would like to become a Parent Ambassador or speak with one, please email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 519-743-5209
We really appreciate your interest in volunteering. If you haven’t found the answers to your questions in the above information, please send your questions or general inquiries to email@example.com.
