Wrapping up VOLUNTEER APPRECIATION WEEK!
We hope you had the chance to visit our Facebook page or Instagram feed this week to check out some of the many ways Rockway Volunteers serve our school community. We are so grateful for the gifts and energy that they share!

We still have a few great opportunities to volunteer coming up this spring! Keep your eye on the FLASH for a chance to help out with the Rockway Golf Classic on Monday, May 27, with textbook returns in June or with preparations for Grade 12 Graduation on June 22. If you have any questions, or are interested in helping out at one of these events, please reach out to our Volunteer Coordinator, Stephanie Janzen at volunteers@rockway.ca. Thank you!

Spring Concert – Wednesday May 8, 2024
Mark your calendars – Rockway’s Music Department has been working hard to present to you our Spring Concert!

We will have TWO DIFFERENT concerts on the same night

  • Grade 7 & 8 concert: 6:30 pm (students called for 6:00)
  • Grade 9-12 concert: 8:00 pm (students called for 7:30, Senior Choir called for 6:30)

Rockway’s Senior Choir will be at the Grade 7 & 8 concert to perform one mass choir piece with the Grade 7 & 8 choir during the first concert. Don’t worry – they will repeat that mass choir piece with the Grade 9 choir, along with their other repertoire, in the second concert!

LOCATION: Rockway’s Gym A
DRESS CODE: All 7-8 students are asked to wear all black, though given the time of year, short sleeves are a valid option if desired. All 9-12 students should be wearing black pants and their new music t-shirts.
INTERMISSION: There will be concessions sold (CASH ONLY) by our grade 11 France/Germany exchange students as a fundraiser for their upcoming travels.

Both concerts will have a free-will offering taken during the performance. All of the money collected through this offering will go towards the purchase of new choral risers. Our current risers have served us well for many years but the time has come to replace them. We have $20,000 raised and need your help raising the remaining $6,000 to complete the purchase.

If you are unable to attend the concert but would like to donate and help us reach our goal, please send an e-transfer to accountant@rockway.ca or you can mail a cheque to Rockway (110 Doon Road, Kitchener, ON N2G 3C8). Please indicate you would like your donation applied to the purchase of new choral risers.

If you have any questions please feel free to email Ms. Nicholl or Mr. Enns but stay tuned to the FLASH next week for more information.
