An Attitude of Gratitude

Posted on: October 16th, 2017

It’s all too easy to slip into an unhealthy habit of wishing things were different than they are.

“Scientifically, happiness is a choice,” says positive psychologist, Shawn Achor. He explains that research has shown you can rewire your brain to make yourself happy by practising simple happiness exercises every day for three weeks.

Achor suggests writing down three things a day that you are grateful for and that have occurred over the last 24 hours. They don’t have to be profound. Just simple things. Small things.

With more gratitude, your brain begins to see more of the positive things in your life and focuses less on the negative.

Practice gratitude daily until it becomes a habit and brings you more moments of being surprised by joy.
