Connections Homecoming night is BACK!

Posted on: October 19th, 2022

Rockway’s Connections Homecoming Night is next Friday, October 28! Come home to Rockway and join in the festivities.

It’s dinner and a show! All are invited to join us in supporting current Rockway students by purchasing a delicious Spaghetti Supper. Why cook or clean up when you can have students do it for you!? Admission is $20 for adults and $12 for children 10 and under. All proceeds go toward May Trips Week costs. No registration is required, pay for admission at the door. Cash or cheque only. No advanced sales.

Stay after dinner for the always fun Alumni Sports Challenge.  This year the alumni will take on the Rockway Sr. Girls BB and Rockway Sr. Boys VB teams. Who will win this year?! Interested in joining one of the alumni teams? Email alumni@rockway.ca to sign up! Make sure to bring your loonies and toonies to buy some snacks (potato chips and caramel popcorn) during the game. Entry to the game is free for all.

During the evening you will also have the chance to win some amazing prizes. Thanks to the generous support of some local businesses, we have secured a number of Raffle Prizes to give away during Connections Homecoming Night. Please make sure and bring cash with you on the night of the event. Three raffle tickets will be provided with the purchase of your Spaghetti Supper; however, additional tickets will be available for purchase during the evening: 3 for $5, 8 for $10 or 20 for $20. The draw will be made during intermission between the basketball and volleyball games.

Prizes to be Won:

  • BBQ – Dyna-Glo Premier 4 Burner Propane Gas Grill ($900 value)

  • Lunch at Sole Restaurant in Waterloo ($50 value, excludes alcohol)

  • Two tickets to any Drayton Entertainment production during the 2023 Season

  • $20 Gift Certificate to Melville Cafe (x2)

  • Family Pass to Funvilla Kitchener (x3)

  • Admission Passes & Popcorn for Two at the Cineplex Cinemas Kitchener & VIP

  • Admission Passes, Popcorn & Drinks for Two at Landmark Cinemas

Throughout the evening you will also have the opportunity to:

  • Have your picture taken at The Memory Maker photo booth. There you’ll have the opportunity to don grad gowns (if you want), fun costumes, or just be yourself and take home a print out as a souvenir

  • Browse through past yearbooks (students who graduated in 2020-2022 can also pick up their yearbooks if they haven’t had the opportunity yet)

  • Listen to some live music performed by Class of 2016 alumni, Jacob Steinmann and Laura Joy Moolenbeek

  • See the new quilt display in the Silo

Check the event page  for more information. It’s going to be a fantastic evening and we hope you’ll be able to join us. Mark your calendars and we’ll see you on the 28th!
