On Saturday, September 28, 2013, one hundred and five women and girls gathered in the Assembly Area for an inaugural event called C3.  I would like to express my appreciation to the Board, planning committee, kitchen staff, volunteers and guests for making this event so successful!

Connecting, Celebrating the Community of Women and Girls included opportunity to interact and reflect on what it means to “Cultivate Contentment.”Wanda Wagler-Martin, keynote speaker, left many to “ponder” her wise words.

She suggested four ways to cultivate contentment:

1)     Let go of control.
2)     Be grateful.
3)     Live in the moment….be present in the present.
4)     Understand and accept yourself.

Following her address, there was opportunity to respond and/or ask a question. During this time, she challenged us as parents that modelling contentment in our own lives is the best way to build a strong sense of self in our children.

May these thoughts challenge you today, tomorrow and the days beyond!
