Giving is as easy as PIE!
Families feeding families is not simply a pie-in-the-sky idea for this year’s Student Council.
Each of the fifteen members of Rockway’s student government is committed to raising funds for our annual Food Drive where all proceeds support of House of Friendship’s Christmas Hamper Program.
In order to raise those much-needed funds, Student Council put their own faces, front and center, and allowed students and teachers to pay for the privilege of “pie-ing” them in the face. There was whipped cream in hair, ears, eyes and noses. It was a messy job by someone had to do it! And Student Council was up to the task.
A whopping $800 was raised and will go directly to House of Friendship to feed families this Christmas.
A reminder that Student Council will be collecting food items until Wednesday, Dec 9 and cash or cheques (made out to House of Friendship) until Thursday, Dec 10th.
Giving fills the giver and the receiver with light and hope so let’s keep it up Rockway. We can make a difference, yes we can!
