Grade 8 Retreat

DSC_0089On a foggy Thursday morning, the grade 8 class left Rockway for Hidden Acres camp for their annual class retreat. As the sun broke out, we challenged ourselves to wall climbing, team building activities and archery. A game of charades made for a lot of laughter, and *most* managed to stay afloat in their canoes during their afternoon paddle.

During a more serious time at the retreat, students participated in two sessions on conflict resolution led by Katie Gingrich, a Peace and Conflict studies student from the University of Waterloo.

After a swim in the pond and a tiring game of capture the flag, students joined their parents for a wonderful meal of lasagna, salad and yummy brownies. We left the camp tired but with a stronger sense of community to start off a fabulous Grade 8 year.
