Learning to Make a Difference

LogoOn Sunday, November 3rd, Rockway hosted 124 youth from Grades 6-8 and 30 adult sponsors who gathered together for a day of fellowship and worship based on the theme of food.

These junior youth from seventeen Mennonite Church Eastern Canada (MCEC) congregations, rotated through four different food related workshops throughout the day. They explored the topics of global vs local foods, how food issues are portrayed in society today and what family food traditions help to shape us. The participants also baked cookies that were donated to House of Friendship’s Charles Street Men’s Hostel as an active demonstration of serving others through food.

Rockway is pleased to partner with MCEC and Silver Lake Mennonite Camp in bringing together the junior youth of our churches for this annual gathering.
