New Beginnings

Happy New Year! This is my first entry in 2014 and I would like to extend my heartfelt greetings to all for a happy and successful new year! In the school life cycle, most students would say their new year begins at the start of Semester II. As a Principal, I would have to agree! The return to school in January is all about bringing closure to a semester by completing Independent Study Units, preparing for exams, writing exams and then launching new courses at the start of the next semester.

For our international students, January 31st marks the beginning of the Chinese New Year. The Rockway community looks forward to recognizing this important celebration next week in chapel by giving students from China, Korea and Thailand a card and some “lucky” money.

As we enter Semester II, may we see it as another new beginning! It is an opportunity to start fresh with new courses, learn new things, make new friends, tighten up study skills and anticipate new challenges!

Happy Semester II!
