OFSAA 2016: Six weeks and counting!
Girls OFSAA is only 6 weeks away and things are starting to come together.
The banquet is set, the swag bags are filling, the t-shirts are ordered, live streaming equipment is rented, volunteers are coming out of the woodwork, we have even practiced the 3 ball system at a recent midget girls event…
We were surprised to find out that there will be 20 teams instead of 16, but the organizing committee is busy making adjustments.
The Senior girls team, lead by consistent setter Katarina Klassen, is also coming together nicely. They played their best ball of the year this week against Resurrection CDSS. They were getting some big hits from veterans Jamie Torrence-Perks and Yara Janzen and some big blocks from rookie Bethany Krebs. We have been watching this talented group of girls develop over the last number of years and look forward to seeing them stack up against the best in province at the upcoming championships.
