Peace Makers promote "The Pledge"
As part of our grade 7&8 Peace Makers program, and our community involvement, Rockway supports the CTV program “The Pledge To End Bullying”, a community based initiative to provide ways of negating the effects of bullying on everyone. Click here to learn more about “The Pledge”.
This year, we were asked if would take part in creating a short video to be used on CTV to promote the program and encourage others to “Take The Pledge”.
Grade 8 students from our Gr 7&8 Leadership Team were the actors and got to spend a morning with the video crew from CTV working hard to create the video. Students learned how much work it takes to create these kinds of messages and did a wonderful job of staying on task and being flexible with the director’s ideas.
As follow-up to the video work, Ryan from CTV did a presentation to all the Gr 7 & 8 students about how he created the video from the footage he captured and the technical/creative work that goes into this kind of production.
