Helping others is as easy as pie!
Rockway’s Student Council put themselves in a very messy situation recently to raise much needed funds for the House of Friendship’s Christmas Hamper Program through Rockway’s Annual Food Drive.
Each of sixteen senior students on Student Council (Executive Members and Committee Chairs) signed up to allow all Rockway students, faculty and staff to bid on the chance to ‘pie’ one them in the face at lunch time on Friday, December 6th.
There was some intense but friendly competition on the bid sheets to vie for the privilege to ‘smoosh’ a pie plate full of cream in the face of a favourite Student Council member!
Cleaning the gooey residue of cream from off their faces and out of their hair (and ears!) was well worth it when Student Council realized that they raised over $700 for their Food Drive. Currently, Rockway’s students have raised over to 18,000 cans towards their ultimate goal of 23,000.
