Rockway takes the pledge
Rockway welcomed representatives from around Waterloo Region to Chapel on Tuesday, October 29th to launch “The Pledge To End Bullying”, an initiative of CTV and Bell Media.
Also on hand for the launch were Mayor of Waterloo Brenda Halloran and Regional Chair Ken Seiling. Local radio host Dave Schneider, also heard at all Kitchener Ranger games and on KFUN 99.5 FM, emcee’d the event that featured speakers from Bell Media, Waterloo Region Crime Prevention Council, Waterloo Region Police Services, Kids Help Phone and Rockway Alumnus Rochelle (deBoer) Barber, class of ’97, from Extend-A-Family.
Students watched informative videos, heard inspiring messages and learned through dramatic presentation how their digital footprint takes seconds to get online and stays forever.
To wrap up the chapel, we all recited The Pledge To End Bullying and committed to continue to work for those who need it the most. Further information on The Pledge can be found at http://www.thepledgetoendbullying.ca.
