Rugby at Rockway
The Rockway Rugby teams competed in the University of Waterloo’s Early Bird Tournament on April 10th. Now in the program’s second year, Rockway sent its Grade 10’s to compete in the junior division and the Grade 8’s and 9’s to compete in the bantam division.
Both teams played extremely well against big time schools. Our juniors finished with two wins, a tie and a loss. The bantams had one win, one tie and two losses. Overall, it was a great learning experience for all players. It was satisfying to receive compliments from other coaches on how our boys carried themselves and played the game. Lastly, every player who dragged himself to school Friday morning was exhausted and sore, but had a big smile on his face! Go flames!
