A Wonderful Evening: Fundraising Dinner success!
What a wonderful evening as Rockway supporters braved the cold February weather and spent a night of food, fun, fellowship and fabulous entertainment!
Upon being seated in the beautifully decorated performance center, Bernie Burnett and John Torrance Perks (Board Chairperson) welcomed and thanked the crowd. The food was blessed and participants made their way to the buffet line. And what a feast it was! A delicious country style meal of ham, scalloped potatoes, vegetables and pie.
The opening act, special guests “No Discernible Key”, was well received by the familiar audience. Their eclectic mix of country, celtic, old & new, material kept everyone enthralled. The feature artists were superb and a special treat. While less known than the opening act, Rescue Junction quickly had everyone tapping their feet, snapping their fingers and thoroughly enjoying a continuous set of country gospel bluegrass tunes. Their chemistry and talent carried through the entire set.
All in all it was a fun night and $4,000 was raised to assist in the forwarding of the mission of the school. Never been to a Rockway fundraising dinner? It’s a lot of fun – consider joining us next winter!
