Personal Information

Margaret is keen to be a part of the Rockway team! With a background in child and youth mental health, Margaret is committed to care of the whole student, believing that healthy growth and academic success are possible when we properly attend to physical, spiritual and psycho-social needs. Prior to Rockway, Margaret worked for numerous local organizations geared towards the care of marginalized folk as well as health promotion of youth and young adults. Her classroom experience comes from 17 years in an alternative education setting, teaching students from grades 1 through 12, with teaching specialization in the areas of science, social studies, outdoor education, and theatre. Her happy place usually involves being outdoors, whether it’s on a quiet walk with her elderly dog, Chinook, or a rain-soaked canoe adventure with her family. Margaret attends Waterloo North Mennonite Church.
