Personal Information

As a past Teaching Assistant and Rockway board member, and present Rockway parent, Rebecca is pleased to be teaching Gr. 11 Studies in Land-Based Leadership. This course brings together her passions for outdoor education, expanding our worldviews, and learning from Indigenous perspectives about our connection to the land. Rebecca’s teaching experience ranges from preschoolers to adults. She founded Nature Connect, a local educational organization that partners with the City of Kitchener and Indigenous organizations to offer nature-based programs in City parks. Rebecca is also a national facilitator for the Child and Nature Alliance of Canada, where she works with Knowledge Keepers to train educators in bringing the outdoors into their teaching.
