Personal Information
Ray teaches Physical Education and is the Athletics Director. Ray sometimes teaches Religious Studies or Science. Ray was a starting left side hitter and point guard at the college level in volleyball and basketball. He wrestled at 76 kg on the CIS champion Brock University team. Ray’s passion is coaching. He has coached a wide variety of teams including his sons’ Hockey and Socccer teams, CMBC’s women’s basketball team (two-time provincial champs), Rockway’s Boys’ Volleyball team (OFSAA champions in 2000), Wrestling (several OFSAA appearances), and Track and Field (several OFSAA regional appearances). Ray stays active after school playing pickup hockey and church league slo pitch. Ray grew up in the St Jacobs Mennonite church, heavily involved in the youth and young adult groups. He served on the MCEC youth committee from 1990-92. Ray lives on a hobby farm where he raises rare breed cattle, pigs, fruit and vegetables. Since getting married, Ray and his wife have attended Bloomingdale Mennonite where Ray enjoys teaching Sunday School, leading singing and serving communion.
